The great civilizations that emerged in the period known as antiquity were the great precursors of cultures and heritage that we know today.
These great civilizations arose generally because of the nomadic tribes who settled in a particular place where they would be able to develop agriculture. Thus arose the first organized villages and the first cities, beginning the great civilizations.
These civilizations arose around the fourth millennium BC with the main feature of having developed on the banks of major rivers such as the Tigris River, the Euphrates, the Nile, the Indus and the Huang He or Yellow River.
Mesopotamia is considered the cradle of civilization. This region was inhabited by peoples like the Akkadians, Babylonians, Assyrians and Chaldeans. Among the great civilizations of antiquity, we can also mention the Phoenicians, Sumerians, the Chinese, the Greeks, the Romans, the Egyptians, among others.
